Privacy Policy

Last updated: January 2025

Introduction

TweetBlink ("we", "our" or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information when you use our browser extension.

Information We Collect

TweetBlink is designed with privacy as a core principle. We collect minimal information:

  • API Keys: Your AI provider API keys (Claude, OpenAI, Gemini) are stored locally in your browser's secure storage. These keys never leave your device and are never sent to our servers.
  • User Preferences: Your customization settings (tone, audience preferences, tweet formats) are stored locally on your device.
  • Usage Data: We do not collect any usage data, analytics, or telemetry.

How We Use Your Information

Since all data is stored locally on your device:

  • Your API keys are used exclusively to communicate with AI providers on your behalf
  • Your preferences are used to customize the tweet generation experience
  • No data is shared with third parties (except direct API calls to AI providers you configure)

Data Storage and Security

Your security is our priority:

  • Local Storage: All sensitive data is stored using your browser's secure local storage mechanism
  • No Server Storage: We do not maintain any servers that store your personal information or API keys
  • Direct API Communication: When you generate tweets, your browser communicates directly with your chosen AI provider using your API keys

Third-Party Services

TweetBlink integrates with the following third-party AI providers:

  • Anthropic (Claude): When you use Claude, your prompts are sent directly to Anthropic's API
  • OpenAI: When you use OpenAI models, your prompts are sent directly to OpenAI's API
  • Google (Gemini): When you use Gemini, your prompts are sent directly to Google's API

Each provider has its own privacy policy and data handling practices. We recommend reviewing their policies:

Your Rights

Since all data is stored locally on your device, you have complete control:

  • Access: You can view your stored API keys and preferences at any time through the extension settings
  • Deletion: You can delete your API keys and preferences at any time through the extension settings
  • Complete Removal: Uninstalling the extension removes all stored data from your browser

Browser Permissions

TweetBlink requires the following browser permissions:

  • Storage: To save your API keys and preferences locally
  • Active Tab: To detect when you're on X/Twitter and provide tweet generation functionality

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the 'Last updated' date at the top of this policy. Continued use of TweetBlink after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
